Parents and carers were invited to attend the 'Jewel Heritage' exhibition launch, which took place on Tuesday 21st October 2008 at Nottingham library on Angel Row.'

Connexions Nottinghamshire's Dual Heritage Specialist Personal Adviser, Deana Goode, has spent the last few months working with dual heritage young people to present a display of what it means to be dual heritage in Nottingham.

As the fastest growing ethnic group, the purpose of the exhibition is to celebrate diversity and explore issues related to dual heritage/mixed race (in particular African Caribbean/White).

The exhibition will run for a month, so if you didn’t make it to the launch date then feel free to take a look at anytime over the month.

Deana has been working with a group of young people to organise the exhibition and these young people have showcased their work at the exhibition. The exhibition includes: young people’s interpretation of what it means to be dual heritage in Nottingham City, local dual heritage role models, famous role models past and present and a timeline indicating changes and opinions.
