Connexions hosts weekend adult careers advice open day!
With the country still facing tough economic conditions, and redundancies likely in the public and private sectors, we know that some of you may be worried about your future job and career options. In order to help tackle those fears, Connexions Nottinghamshire is now offering a FREE careers advice service to adults.
The service is being offered under the national Next Step programme and is available at Connexions centres throughout Nottinghamshire. In Nottingham, a team of experienced Advisers is available at the Hockley Connexions centre daily from Monday to Friday to provide a comprehensive careers advice service to adults.
However, in addition to weekday openings, on Saturday 9 October 2010, the city Connexions centre will be hosting a careers open day for adults (18+). The centre will open from 11am to 5pm.
The centre, on Carlton Street in Hockley, is opening on a Saturday to appeal to those adults who may struggle to make it in to the city in the week.
Adults who are unemployed, looking for a career change, wanting advice about redundancy or just wants information about what jobs and opportunities are available in the area, are invited to drop in on the day and talk to an adviser.

Connexions City Operations Manager, Michelle Wright, says: “We’re opening the centre to give adults who may not get into Nottingham in the week a chance to access our careers advice service.
“It’s important because the Next Step service isn’t just for those currently unemployed but also for those concerned about possible redundancy or considering a career change. We have an open door policy so anyone interested in accessing free careers advice can just drop in.”
Careers advice interviews will be available on a first come, first served basis.
