New Year, new start for Notts young
Nottingham Connexions centre's Opportunities Day!
Young job seekers from Nottingham and surrounding areas attended the Connexions Nottinghamshire Opportunities day at the city Connexions centre on Carlton Street on Thursday 21st January 2010.
The event took place to encourage young people interested in taking up an Apprenticeship or other training opportunity to take that first step and check what opportunities are on offer in the area.
Eight of the area’s biggest training providers, including Castle College, Access Training, NHTA (Nottinghamshire Hair Training Association), VT Automotive, Zeno (training in IT support), the National Apprenticeship Service and Silver Track were present to talk about training options and in some cases offer an on-the-spot interview for some candidates in the afternoon.
On the day young people had the opportunity to:
• Talk to training providers who have opportunities available
• Apply for Apprenticeships and other training
• Apply online for available jobs
• Get information and advice on CVs and application forms
• Enter a Prize Draw to win £25 shopping vouchers!
Connexions Opportunities team will also had a stand and talked to a lot of young people and their parents about job and training opportunities available throughout Nottinghamshire.
