Survive
redundancy with help from GuideLine Career
Services
Guideline Career Services, Connexions
Nottinghamshire’s sister company, provides FREE advice to adults
(aged 20+) about work, education and training and has been
providing support to people being made redundant for many
years.
To meet a growing demand for advice,
Guideline Careers Services organised a redundancy advice day on
Tuesday February 24 2009 at the Connexions Nottinghamshire
centre.
On the day, people dropped in with
queries, took part in workshops and got practical help and
advice on:
-
Impressive CVs: how to create a CV that
will impress employers
-
Job search skills: where to look for
jobs and how to find the right job for you
-
Interview techniques: how to impress at
interview
-
How to survive redundancy: practical
ways of planning.
-
Career planning: how to change
direction after redundancy
GuideLine Team Manager, Marcia Goddard
says: “We’re here to help anybody who is unemployed or facing
redundancy so would like to encourage people to drop in on Tuesday
and have a chat with an Adviser. Often when you get the right
advice you can turn redundancy into a positive new beginning”.
