All your Diploma questions answered!

On October 8 2009, the Gedling Schools’ Partnership, which comprises Gedling schools, Connexions Nottinghamshire and the Local Authority, hosted a 14-19 Diploma information evening.

All parents of Year 9 students in the Borough were invited to attend, along with local employers. The event, which took place at Colwick Hall was well attended and aimed to answer the questions:

 1. What is a Diploma?
 2. What Diplomas are available in Gedling?
 3. Why might your child want to do a Diploma?
 4. What can your child progress onto from the Diploma?

The Gedling Schools’ Partnership organised this event because although young people have the opportunity to find out about Diplomas during the option process, the partnership wanted to make sure that parents also had an open forum where they could ask questions.

Unsurprisingly, parents attending the evening had many questions of their own and unfortunately not all could be answered during the event. Therefore, all the questions and answers are now available online at theparentpoint. The questions and answers will be of interest to every parent whose child is considering taking a Diploma.

Don't forget you can talk about Diplomas with other parents on The Parent Point Forum.
