Find a job with training
Young people looking for a job should register with their local Connexions centre. A Connexions Personal Adviser will then help your son or daughter to find a job or training place.
If your teenager wants to look for a job after Year 11, it’s best to encourage them to choose a job with training opportunities or encourage them to study part-time – the law states that 16 and 17 year olds have the right to have time off work to study for qualifications up to Level 2 (this could be GCSEs grades A-C or NVQ Level 2).
