Foundation Learning is not school or college and there are centres all around Nottinghamshire
You teenager will get the opportunity to learn in small groups and have your own tutor
Some Foundation Learning opportunities are general but others have a specific training edge to them like motor vehicle, retail or catering.
Foundation Learning is a new programme for you if:

you’re not ready to go straight into an apprenticeship, a job or onto college
-
you’ve missed out on time at school
-
you’ve not got many qualifications and you’re starting to think about what you want to do.
What happens on Foundation Learning?
Your son or daughter will have their own training programme. It might include things like:
-
help with functional skills - reading, writing, numbers or Information Technology
-
work placements or work tasters
-
skills to help develop you as a person
-
help with finding and keeping a job
-
working towards an NVQ level 1 qualification or above
There are over 20 sites in Nottinghamshire and it’s your choice which one you would like to attend. Foundation Learning links with employers so you have the opportunity to get valuable work experience that you need for your C.V and gain a qualification alongside it!
